You could experience Israel as a tourist in so many different ways.  Living here however is different than all of them. I never imagined that I would feel so good in a place located thousands of kilometers away from my home, but I can say that is how I feel everyday. Israel has something that you can’t quite explain, just feel. Time goes by and you don’t even notice, sometimes you have to remind yourself to slow down. After all, there’s so much to do over here and it’s hard to know where you should start. How is it possible that such a small country can surprise you everyday?

I chose the Career Israel program to live in Tel Aviv and work at Moby, a contemporary art museum in a city called Bat Yam on the south edge of Tel Aviv. My internship tasks include assisting in installing exhibitions, art studio visits and meetings, representing the museum for guests that come for productions, and many other things. It’s not my first time working in a museum. I’ve been working in the art field for the past 5 years in Brazil and every time it has been different. The reason I came to Israel is that I was searching for something else. I don’t know exactly what was it, but I’m sure I have found more than that. To have this experience abroad in a totally distinctive cultural scene has been an amazing experience. I’ve been meeting so many interesting people and going to so many new places that I haven’t had time to miss my hometown yet. If I could give some advice to whoever is reading this, I would say not to waste this opportunity. Come make your own conclusions about life in Israel. I promise you wont regret it.
