My name is Jamie Diamond. I am originally from Atlanta, and I majored in Hebrew Jewish and Cultural Studies at the University of Michigan. I enrolled in Career Israel because I chose to take a year off before beginning medical school. This program gave me the opportunity to take a break while doing something productive. I knew that it would be the perfect place to work, learn, and relax because of my love for this country.
I currently intern at Nefesh B’Nefesh and have enjoyed contributing to the lives of others who have moved to Israel. One day I particularly enjoyed was when I went to pick vegetables for the needy on a farm in Rehovot with other olim chadashim (new immigrants). The experience was a perfect mix of what I love about Israel – a religious holiday, a good cause, and lots of friendly faces. I believe that the experience I gained while event planning for the organization is a valuable skill that I can use throughout my life.
